Sunstones Orion 200i boasts a power potential of up to 200 joules of pulse-arc weld energy. While powerful, the 200i is perfect for low power needs as well-yielding as little as 0.15 joules of energy. Even with such a large range in power, full control is maintained as the 200i is adjustable in 0.01 joule increments.

The 200i Welding System is packed with features to give you more control, more capability, and a simpler welding process. The 200i is the most advanced and capable micro TIG or Pulse Arc Welding system in the world. The 200i has the widest range of power options, the most advanced features, and the most customizable weld.

How Does Pulse Arc Welding Work?

Electrical Energy - Plasma Discharge

Micro TIG/Pulse Arc welding uses electrical energy to create a plasma discharge. The high-temperature plasma, in turn, melts metal in a small spot. This process takes place in milliseconds. The process is clean and very controllable - perfect for intricate and minute welding applications on precious and non-precious metals!. Filler metal can also be added to build up joints and create strong and reliable weld "beads", or weld seams.

Two in One Combo

The Orion is a Micro TIG (also known as Pulse-arc) welder and a capacitive discharge resistance welder in one. This combination of abilities allows for infinite creative possibilities. In its "Arc Mode" (micro TIG/pulse-arc welding), the can be used to perform permanent welds, add metal, and do a variety of other amazing and time-saving applications. In its "Tack Mode" (capacitive discharge resistance welding), the can be used to temporarily position parts before welding or soldering.

Basic Principle - How to use

  1. Attach The Grounding Clip
  2. Use the Specialized Microscope that is focused on the Welding Electrode Tip.
  3. Simply Touch the workpiece to the electrode and a weld is triggered.

    • Flat Rate Shipping: $5 flat rate for orders under $100.

8.1 Delayed or Lost Packages

  • Lost Packages:

    • If your tracking information indicates that your package was delivered but you have not received it, please complete the following steps:

      • Verify the shipping address provided.

      • Check with neighbors or building management.

      • Contact us for further assistance.

        • We may also ask you to file a missing package claim with the carrier so we can proceed with a replacement or resolution.

8.2 Damaged Packages

  • Reporting Shipment Damage:

    • If your package arrives damaged:  

      • Contact us within 7 days at support@hobbytechsupply.com.

      • Note: Returns will NOT be authorized if damage is caused by customer misuse or improper setup.

    • Take photos of the damaged packaging and items.

  • Resolution:

    • We will work with you to arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.

9. Missing or Incomplete Items

Limited Warranty 

Standard Warranty
Most products come with a 1-year limited warranty from the date they ship. This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Extended 3-Year Warranty (Welders Only)
The following welder models include a 3-year warranty:
Zapp, Zapp Plus, mPulse, mPulse30, Orion PJ, Orion 100c, Orion 150s, Orion 250s, and Orion 200i.

What’s Not Covered

Except for the limited warranties listed above, no other warranties are provided. This means:

  • No warranty of fitness for a specific purpose
  • No guarantee of performance or compatibility
  • No guarantee against intellectual property infringement

This applies to both products and any included software.

Third-Party Products

Some items may include components or software made by other manufacturers. These third-party products:

  • Are not covered by this warranty
  • May have their own warranty from the original manufacturer
  • Can be supported by us within reason—we’ll help you contact the manufacturer, but any costs are your responsibility

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To qualify for warranty service, you must:

  1. Notify us in writing within 5 days of discovering a defect.
  2. Allow us to inspect the product.
  3. Return the product to us (if requested) with a valid RMA number. Items must be prepaid, insured, and shipped to the address we provide.
  4. The issue must be verified as a defect that occurred under normal, proper use.

When the Warranty Does Not Apply

The warranty is void if:

  • You continue using the product after discovering a problem
  • The issue is caused by incorrect installation, improper use, poor maintenance, or ignoring instructions
  • The product is altered or repaired without our written approval
  • Anyone other than our technicians or authorized partners performs repairs without our permission

Consumable items (like electrodes or gas tanks) are only covered for defects visible upon delivery. Once used, they are no longer covered.

What We Will Do

If a covered defect is confirmed during the warranty period, we will choose one of the following options:

  • Repair the product

  • Replace the product or defective part
  • Refund or credit you based on the original purchase price

If we request the product be returned, shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

Your Exclusive Remedy

These repair, replacement, or refund options are the only remedies available under this warranty. No other promises or representations—verbal or written—are valid unless included in this warranty.
