Pack Options & Shipping Details

The Argon Mini is available in packs of 2, 4, 6, and 8, with lower per-tank pricing as you purchase more.

Each shipment—regardless of pack size—requires a $45 hazardous materials fee, as mandated by the shipping carrier.
Good news: this fee is already included in the displayed price for each pack.

Pro Tip: The hazmat fee is per shipment, not per tank, so ordering multiple tanks at once helps you save.

Important Usage & Recycling Notes

The Argon Mini is designed for one-time use only and cannot be refilled. Once empty, it can be recycled through a local metal recycler (check with your recycler for proper preparation instructions).

We encourage responsible recycling of all depleted tanks—it’s better for your workspace and the planet.

What Does Argon Do?

Argon acts as a shielding gas, protecting your weld from oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen in the air—elements that can cause porosity, spatter, and weak connections.

How Many Welds from One Tank?

The number of welds you can get from the Argon Mini depends upon a number of different factors, but generally speaking you should be able to complete around 650 welds with one tank. You may get more or you may get less.

Will I Need an Argon Regulator?

Yes. You will need to order the Argon Mini Regulator. Other regulators will NOT fit the Argon Mini tank.

Say "Yes!" to Argon

Argon is used as a shielding gas in Sunstones Orion Welding Systems. During the welding, process metals are exposed to temperatures of upwards of 7000 Degrees. At these temperatures, most metals become liquid, which allows the formation of the weld. Argon is used to protect the molten pool of metal against elements in the Atmosphere including Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen. These elements cause reactions with the liquid weld pool, such as porosity and increased weld spatter. Argon also plays an important role in maintaining Arc stability, which leads to increased weld penetration, better filler wire transfer, and better weld appearance. Sunstones Premium argon is 99.50% pure Argon. Pure Argon refers to the gas being just Argon, and not mixed with another gas.

What is The Recommended Argon Pressure?

Sunstones Orion Welding systems work best at around 10 PSI. The pressure can be adjusted depending on the workpiece and how far the electrode protrudes from the welding stylus. The further out the electrode, the more argon pressure will be required in order to get proper coverage.

Most products come with a 1-year limited warranty from the date they ship. This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Extended 3-Year Warranty (Welders Only)

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To qualify for warranty service, you must:

Notify us in writing within 5 days of discovering a defect.
Allow us to inspect the product.
Return the product to us (if requested) with a valid RMA number. Items must be prepaid, insured, and shipped to the address we provide.
The issue must be verified as a defect that occurred under normal, proper use.

When the Warranty Does Not Apply

The warranty is void if:

You continue using the product after discovering a problem
The issue is caused by incorrect installation, improper use, poor maintenance, or ignoring instructions
The product is altered or repaired without our written approval
Anyone other than our technicians or authorized partners performs repairs without our permission

Consumable items (like electrodes or gas tanks) are only covered for defects visible upon delivery. Once used, they are no longer covered.

What We Will Do

If a covered defect is confirmed during the warranty period, we will choose one of the following options:

Repair the product
Replace the product or defective part
Refund or credit you based on the original purchase price

If we request the product be returned, shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.
