The Argon Mini Plus is a small argon tank perfect for pop-ups and remote events. The Argon Mini Plus is small enough for a shoulder bag, backpack, or welder carrying case.

The Argon Mini Plus is available in packs of 2, 4, and 6. The price per tank decreases when the purchase quantity increases. Every Argon Mini Plus shipment, regardless of how many tanks are included, requires an additional $45 hazardous material fee mandated by the shipping carrier. The hazardous material fee is included in the price displayed for each pack.

Purchasing Tip: The hazardous material fee is per shipment, NOT per tank. You'll save money when you order more tanks in one shipment.

The Argon Mini Plus is designed for one-time use only. The tank cannot be refilled. However, the tank can be recycled with a local metal recycler (ask your local recycler for more information on how to prepare your tank for recycling). To that point, you are encouraged to recycle all depleted tanks.

What Does Argon Do?

Argon is used as a shielding gas to protect your welding against elements in the atmosphere, like oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. These elements react with your welding, creating porosity and increased weld spatter. Argon shields your welding while improving weld penetration (a stronger connection, better filler wire transfer, and better weld appearance (less soot!).

How Many Welds from One Tank?

The Argon Mini Plus should provide enough argon for one welder for a weekend pop-up. The number of welds you get depends upon several different factors, but you should be able to complete a minimum 1300 welds with one tank. You may get more or you may get less depending on a number of different factors.

Will I Need an Argon Regulator?

Yes. The Argon Mini Plus and the Argon Mini use the same regulator. Other regulators will NOT fit the Argon Mini Plus.

Argon is a key ingredient to quality permanent jewelry welding. Argon improves both the strength and appearance of your welds. By removing pesky oxygen from around the weld you’ll avoid porosity (ugly pockmarks) and hard-to-remove soot. When you use argon, you give your customers the best possible quality and service.

We make access to argon at any event easy. The Argon Mini Plus is small enough to fit in a shoulder bag or container yet provide all the argon you may need for a weekend pop-up.

A Tank for Every Need: Meet the Sunstone Argon Family

Sunstone provides three different sizes of argon tanks: Small, Smaller, and Smallest. While argon is key to quality welding, a tank of argon probably does not contribute to your aesthetic. So we make our tanks small to keep your customers’ attention on the jewelry, not the gas! Here’s what we offer:

Argon Mini. Sunstone’s smallest tank will fit in your purse, only 11.75 inches tall, provides .95 liters of premium argon, and delivers about 650 welds. For events that last only a few hours, the Argon mini will rock your world!

Argon Mini Plus. A tad larger than our smallest tank, the Argon Mini Plus is perfect for weekend pop-ups or events. At only 12 inches in height, the Plus will easily fit in a shoulder bag yet deliver 1.9 liters of premium argon, enough for about 1,300 welds.

Argon. Our largest tank can be easily stored under a workbench, standing only 27” tall but providing 10 liters of premium argon. With this tank, you can weld for a long time before you run out of gas. Unlike the Argon Mini and Argon Mini Plus, this tank can be refilled when empty. You can order a refill from Sunstone and have it delivered right to your door! Or, you can refill your tank at your nearest argon gas provider.

The Argon Mini Plus gets at least 2x more welds than a standard Argon Mini!

 

How Many Welds Can You Really Get from One Tank?

The number of welds you get from a tank will differ from tank to tank. Why? Because of so many environmental, usage, and hardware factors. The following factors contribute to the number of weld you may get from one tank:

  • The number of times you connect and disconnect the argon tube to your welder
  • The number of times you connect and disconnect the regulator
  • Possible loss due to unnoticed leaks
  • Regulator pressure settings
  • Barometric pressure
  • Temperature
  • Elevation

    • Flat Rate Shipping: $5 flat rate for orders under $100.

4. Order Processing Time

8. Delivery Issues

8.1 Delayed or Lost Packages

  • Delayed Delivery:

  • Lost Packages:

    • If your tracking information indicates that your package was delivered but you have not received it, please complete the following steps:

      • Verify the shipping address provided.

      • Check with neighbors or building management.

      • Contact us for further assistance.

        • We may also ask you to file a missing package claim with the carrier so we can proceed with a replacement or resolution.

8.2 Damaged Packages

  • Reporting Shipment Damage:

    • If your package arrives damaged:  

      • Contact us within 7 days at support@hobbytechsupply.com.

      • Note: Returns will NOT be authorized if damage is caused by customer misuse or improper setup.

    • Take photos of the damaged packaging and items.

  • Resolution:

    • We will work with you to arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.

9. Missing or Incomplete Items

  • Reporting Missing Items:

    • If any items are missing from your order:

      • Contact us within 7 days of receiving your package.

      • Provide your order number and details of the missing item(s).

      • Note: refunds will NOT be authorized if missing items are reported late.

      • These must be reported within 7 days of receiving your package so we can file the appropriate claims with the carrier or supplier.

    • General Returns (not related to damage or missing items):

      • You may request a return within 30 days of receiving your order.

    • After approval, you will receive return shipment instructions.

    • Items must be unused, undamaged, with all components present, and in their original packaging.

    • Certain items (e.g., personalized goods, gift cards) may not be eligible for return.

      • Restocking fees vary by manufacturer and will be clearly communicated before a return is approved.

Limited Warranty 

Standard Warranty
Most products come with a 1-year limited warranty from the date they ship. This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Extended 3-Year Warranty (Welders Only)
The following welder models include a 3-year warranty:
Zapp, Zapp Plus, mPulse, mPulse30, Orion PJ, Orion 100c, Orion 150s, Orion 250s, and Orion 200i.

What’s Not Covered

Except for the limited warranties listed above, no other warranties are provided. This means:

  • No warranty of fitness for a specific purpose
  • No guarantee of performance or compatibility
  • No guarantee against intellectual property infringement

This applies to both products and any included software.

Third-Party Products

Some items may include components or software made by other manufacturers. These third-party products:

  • Are not covered by this warranty
  • May have their own warranty from the original manufacturer
  • Can be supported by us within reason—we’ll help you contact the manufacturer, but any costs are your responsibility

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To qualify for warranty service, you must:

  1. Notify us in writing within 5 days of discovering a defect.
  2. Allow us to inspect the product.
  3. Return the product to us (if requested) with a valid RMA number. Items must be prepaid, insured, and shipped to the address we provide.
  4. The issue must be verified as a defect that occurred under normal, proper use.

When the Warranty Does Not Apply

The warranty is void if:

  • You continue using the product after discovering a problem
  • The issue is caused by incorrect installation, improper use, poor maintenance, or ignoring instructions
  • The product is altered or repaired without our written approval
  • Anyone other than our technicians or authorized partners performs repairs without our permission

Consumable items (like electrodes or gas tanks) are only covered for defects visible upon delivery. Once used, they are no longer covered.

What We Will Do

If a covered defect is confirmed during the warranty period, we will choose one of the following options:

  • Repair the product

  • Replace the product or defective part
  • Refund or credit you based on the original purchase price

If we request the product be returned, shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

Your Exclusive Remedy

These repair, replacement, or refund options are the only remedies available under this warranty. No other promises or representations—verbal or written—are valid unless included in this warranty.

Optional Extended Warranty

Customers have the option to extend the warranty for any Pulse Arc, Laser or Resistance Welder to a Forever Warranty using a paid subscription service. The warranty will be valid as long as the subscription remains active and includes:
